I’ve lived in NYC for 3 weeks now…yah that’s a long damn time for a small town gal like me. I’m having a love/hate relationship with this city…mainly hating all the homeless people, guys who don’t hold doors open, slow walkers, lack of a/c, smelly subway, how much walking you actually have to do to get somewhere (I walk 10 miles a day y’all..that’s a lot). I also hate how expensive everything is…like $15 for a meal and $20 for a drink. You can’t even get drunk off at $20 drink. It also baffles me that theres a guy on the street that asks me for money EVERYDAY while I walk to work as he smokes a cigarette. I swear one day I’m going to lose it on him and tell him “If you can afford to smoke a cigarette than you don’t need my money” or something like that. I have this sh*t planned out y’all. Not to mention the hotel prices are outrageous…trying to find a semi decent hotel for Matt and I when he comes to visit and the prices are $300 and up for something just okay. Oh and where I live…don’t even get me started on that!
What I LOVE though (I know it’s shocking I could love something…) is the amount of exploring I get to do and how many endless options of things there are to do in the city. A lot of things are pretty convenient for the most part or so I think they are from where I’m living. Plus, there’s fun things and events going on ALL the time and even though the food is expensive and so are the drinks…there are so many cool restaurants to go to. Next to where I’m working there is a Bite Beauty Bar and you can make your own lipstick! I’m literally doing it next week. Y’all know how much I love my lipstick! AND there’s a Birchbox Store where you can make your own Birchbox…like what!
I have my ups and downs with the city though. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. I think I just like it and am trying to embrace the opportunity that I was given to come live here for 4 months. But boy do I miss Alabama more than anything in this world and I’m so excited to go back there tonight for a weekend trip. It’s been so weird for me knowing that I’ll never be a college student ever again. It’s sad…people aren’t kidding when they say it goes by quickly! I never thought I’d admit to missing Alabama more than I miss home but I miss Alabama a hell of a lot. People in NYC don’t have manners like they do in Alabama…and on that note I will end my rant!
Hope everyone has a great weekend…oh and ROLL TIDE!
In honor of National Wear Your Lilly Day tomorrow aka the first day of summer, I figured I’d share with y’all this adorable Lilly Pulitzer romper. It’s no secret that I’m a Lilly Pulitzer lover…I was born and raised in Florida….an hour from Lilly’s home! I’ve been wearing Lilly Pulitzer for as long as I can remember. My Mom still has all of the vintage dresses that were hers from the 80’s and my dresses from when I was a little girl. Not to mention my bedroom growing up was Lilly Pulitzer too!
Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to wear Lilly Pulitzer tomorrow 🙂

As soon as I visited the Michael Hill homepage and clicked on the earrings tab and saw these earrings I absolutely fell in love. I’m not even a big gold fan…but when it comes to earrings I am. Something about gold statement earrings just makes the outfit!
Mother’s Day is May 10th aka right around the corner (trust me it will sneak up fast). I’ve gathered some of my favorite gifts to give my Mom and some of her favorite gifts to receive whether it’s from me, my brother or Dad! I’d say my favorite is the Fujifilm Instax Instant Film Camera because it captures memories and what’s better than that? My other favorites are the Tory Burch Fit Bit, they have been a must lately..I’ve been dying to get my hands on one but have yet to! You can also never go wrong with a pair of comfy slippers or a new bath robe either!
I was suppose to post this a month ago y’all and just realized that it was in my drafts box. I feel so bad y’all I haven’t been able to do any outfit post in so long because the weather has been so bad in Tuscaloosa. I promise to have some new looks up by the end of the week…but for now bare with me and my selfies that I post on instagram! I have so much cute new stuff to share with y’all!
I wasn’t kidding in my instagram when I said I’ll be in this romper all summer long…and the sandals too. This romper is going to be perfect for going out or even wearing as a beach cover up…and the sandals. I’ll probably wear them out in a month because I will wear them nonstop. Plus, they are $125 and SO CUTE. I’m deciding on if I should get the pair in black too!
Be sure to check out the Wednesday link up below!!
Matt and I escaped for a quick night to his farm and boy did we need it! He cooked steaks and his famous brown rice while I drank wine and baked (burnt) cookies. After that, we watched Maid in Manhattan and No String Attached…I can’t believe I talked Matt into watching BOTH of those movies. It was peaceful and perfect, just what we both needed.
I can’t get over how beautiful the weather is today! Yesterday it was windy and cold but now the sun is out and shining bright. Wishing I had a on a bikini and was laying out by the dock! But I can always count on my jeans and cowboy boots to keep me in my comfort zone!
I was born to shop. Can you blame me? Nothing like a low key sweatshirt like this to spruce up an outfit. Plus, who doesn’t get a kick out of this? I’ve gotten so many comments from just wearing this around town. Great to throw on and do some errands in. I also love these railroad stripped jeans from J.Crew Factory they are so soft and perfect for the summer time.
