I’m not going to lie…trying to figure out how to dress for cold weather is not my expertise. I’m still trying to get the hang of it…I mean I grew up in Florida…growing up when it would get cold we flocked to uggs, jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Cold weather up in Alabama is a whole different story…No joke. I just got back from class (it’s 16 degrees here) and I had on 5 layers plus a scarf, and a headband. I looked like a total goon!
Okay…….I have been slacking off with posting but I have been so busy and I seriously just needed some away time from the computer. But don’t worry I’m back and ready to go! I hope y’all aren’t too stressed preparing for the holidays so I’ll keep this short!
My boyfriend and I picked out some of our favorite things that we own as college kids! My top 3 favorites for her gifts would be Pure Barre, a Barbour jacket and a Clarisonic. Why? I’m crazy for Pure Barre I try to go 4 times a week in Tuscaloosa however we don’t have one at home and it makes me so sad! A Barbour jacket because it keeps you warm and stylish! A Clarisonic because it keeps your skin feeling good and without it I’d be lost. My boyfriends top 3 favorites for him are a Barbour jacket, cowboy boots, and a Yeti Cooler. Why? Because without a Barbour jacket he’d be cold and he can stay on trend even though he doesn’t even know it, plus sometimes we match and it’s really cute but don’t tell him I said that!!! Cowboy boots because every man should own a pair! A Yeti Cooler because what else are you suppose to keep your drinks in when you’re at a tailgate, on the boat, or at a date party!
I have been in love with this Tibi dress since the day I saw it hanging in Sassy Boutique! I knew I had to have it, and I’ve been dying to wear it! It’s absolutely adorable and the bright chartreuse makes you feel so much happier in the winter.
Only 3 more days until I head to NYC..you might be seeing a repeat of this dress because I love it so much!
I am so excited to go to New York City next weekend for the ENK International Coterie Fashion Market. I am going for a boutique back at home (Vero Beach, FL) called Sassy Boutique! Sassy has been around since as long as I have and it is hands down my favorite store at home, not to mention the owner Deana Marchant, is like my second mother! I get everything I need from there whether it’s a formal dress, jeans, or shoes. Sassy has it! I am also so excited to see my Mom, Deana, and my friend Grace! It has been over a month since I last saw them and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This Alabama girl is headed north, but bringing the south with her! Be on the lookout for my post while I’m in the Big Apple! Also, follow my Instagram shotgunsandseashells to get the most recent updates of our trip!
Take a peak at what I’m wearing in this cold Alabama weather! I’m trying to stay as warm as I possibly can by still adding a pop of color..in hopes that the sun will come back out! (schools canceled I’ve got nothing better to do than blog!)
