If I was in Florida right now I’d be able to get away with wearing this outfit…but right now in New York it’s about 50 degrees and rainy. I may or may not have forgotten about these photos from two months ago but at least you see them now. I’m personally a huge fan of Old Navy I always go in to that store and end up leaving with a bag or two whether it’s t-shirts, pajamas, a dress or sweater. I love that place and their Tee Shop is one of my favorite places to snag some good basics like the tank I have on!
Fringe is in this season y’all. When I saw these fringe Kate Spade booties I fell in love. I stalked them for a good 2 months until I finally broke down and bought them during the Bloomingdale’s sale along with an AMAZING faux leather fringed jacket by BlankNYC (post coming next week). I must say that they are my two favorite purchases that I have made since being in New York City aside from like food.
Anyway, I have less than two months left living here and I can’t believe how quickly it has flown by. Still in a love/hate relationship with it here but I’m trying to make the best of it. I’m going to do a little exploring this weekend so I can’t wait to share photos with y’all. Until then, I’m just counting down the days until I graduation and I move back home to Florida. Oh, by the way….I’m going to be a home owner. Can’t wait to share those details with y’all in a few weeks and my decorating ideas!
Question: WHERE ON EARTH DO Y’ALL BY YOUR SWEATERS FROM? I swear when it comes down to shopping for sweaters I suck at it. I got the one I have on in this post from Old Navy and I love it but when it comes down to sweater shopping it stresses me out..probably because I have no idea what kind of sweater I like or what would look good. I never thought I’d struggle to find sweaters that I liked..but I guess that’s my Florida girl in me! So help please….or I’ll freeze. I think part of my reason too is that I refuse to pay over $100 for a sweater since I know that I’m moving back to Florida and it gets cold maybe 10 times out of the winter season. LOL
It has only taken me an eternity to get this post up and going. During NYFW, I attended the rewardStyle and LIKEtoKNOW.IT event at the Hotel Americano and I got to meet so many amazing new blogger friends. Some bloggers I admired from a far because I was too shy to go and say “hello” to because I’m intimidated by them which I know I shouldn’t be but that’s just the type of person I am. I did get to finally meet the lovely Riley of Chacos & Chanel and Lacey of A Glimpse Of Glitter. It was so fun to meet up ahead of time and have drinks and chat! Obviously, I dressed in one of my favorite Tibi looks from their holiday collection. If there was going to be any type of culotte I’d ever wear it would be the ones I have on. They are so stunning and barely look like culottes. Plus, tapestry is IN this season.
I have been obsessed with this knit shawl for about a month now…mainly for the fact that it can honestly be tied about a thousand (not really) different ways. It’s also a great staple to have in your closet for when the weather does start to cool down and then for when it starts to get freezing. You can style it with a cocktail dress, blouse or a cami. I styled mine with a Tibi cami since the weather right now is the perfect temperature for a cami and shawl combo…plus y’all know I’m from Florida so if I was back home this is how I’d be styling it. Now, as the weather starts to get colder I’ll be pairing it with long sleeves and probably a coat! I also realized that I left out a way to style it…you can tie the ends together into an infinity scarf and wrap it around your neck like a scarf! So grab your shawl, your favorite pair of leggings..which would be my Wolford ones and a pair of flats or booties and you’re good to go!
Which way is your favorite way to tie the shawl?
Enjoy the quick video below for a few ways on how to tie the shawl!

The Brooklyn Bridge is gorgeous these photos literally just don’t even do a justice. I’m lucky that I also got to see the bridge at one of the most beautiful times of the day when the sun was going done. One of the fun things about being in New York City is making new friends and learning about other peoples own personal styles. Jenna (blonde chick next to me) is a new friend that I intern with at Tibi. She’s from the great city of New Orleans and her and I have extremely opposite styles. I’m such my little beachy FL girl and she’s a Nola fashion forward hipster. But she did have these black Rag & Bone overalls in her closet and I fell in love. Not only are they just fun and an easy wear but they are SO comfortable. I told her I was going to steal them but I so kindly gave them back.
I got to borrow her Rag & Bone get up…white tee and sneakers (not my style either) for the Rag & Bone NYFW Spring 2016 Collection and I loved it. I felt like a completely different person dressed in these clothes and it was fun to experiment and switch up my style. Since coming to NYC I have been experimenting with my style and you will see that it is getting edgier but don’t worry my beachy Florida southern Alabama girl style will ever go away. But the point of this is to try new trends and to go out of your style comfort zone because you may end up LOVING that new something. So thank you Jenna for this style makeover!
